Description
A second Sino-Japanese War broke out a few years before this poster from 1940 was created. The War between China and Japan indirectly contributed to the second World War. The U.S. Air Force took advantage of strategic military bases set up on Chinese soil to carry out their objectives against Japan. China also received assistance from Russia and Germany in quelling the Japanese threat near Beijing. This poster shows several battle scenes from that era, as it marks the battle's third anniversary, an effort by the Chinese to show their superior strength in retaining the integrity of their country's culture.
