Description
The zeppelin was an airship used by the German military to provide surveillance and bomb enemy targets from a safe distance. This poster shows the significant damage such a vessel could create, judging from the city in flames far below. Germany's defeat during World War I temporarily halted production, but the zeppelin would return as a form of luxury transportation in the 1930's until the dramatic Hindenburg crash forced the airship's quick demise.
