Description
Here is another political map of the eastern hemisphere in 1914 as the world entered its first World War. This "symbolic map of Europe" had a legend at the bottom with letters representing each country. As you can see, each country was given human characteristics, but none matched the grandeur of Tsar Nicholas I in the center of Russian territory, giving an indication of how, even at this early state of development, the Russian model of society was viewed with a sense of superiority.
