Prohibition in Soviet Russia during the time of its initial revolutions in 1917 was the purpose of this poster showing the ill effects that alcohol contributed to. Alcoholism was a problem in many countries, and this was a popular time in world politics to try to diminish its impact on society. This poster of a drunken husband threatening his family shows that the Russian government was aware of a problem that could affect their fragile economy by making workers less productive than they needed them to be.
