Description
This political poster shows Chairman Mao Zedong visiting Chinese workers on location in the factories he helped to promote as a leader for socialism and industrialization in Communist China. Zedong's Great Leap Forward had high aspirations, and the text here speaks of how Mao was "linked to us by hand and heart." In reality, his poorly researched efforts at social reform starved 30 million citizens by the early 1960's, and it would take significantly longer to execute the goals Mao had envisioned ten years earlier.
