Description
A "Party Crisis" has stranded Russia's Water Transport Workers in this political cartoon, who were on Communist Party leader Vladimir Lenin's mind when he spoke of their dispute with Tsektran, their local union governed by the Central Committee, in a January 1921 issue of Pravda. Without assessing blame, the message speaks of a Vodnik, a sailor's demon of the water in Russian folklore, that is hungry to "fix the transportation" route and bottle-neck Lenin's plans for industrialization.
