Description
This poster shows a range of activities either allowed or disapproved of in the emerging Republic view of life in China. The figure in the center is none other than General Chiang Kai-shek, leader of Nationalist movement that opposed the PRC from its remote headquarters in Taiwan, where the weaker military power was forced to retreat in 1945. Kai-shek devoted his entire life to re-establishing unity in mainland China, but the country remains a PRC-controlled Communist society to this day.
