This poster from Communist Russia reads like a fact sheet, detailing the tremendous resources the USSR had amassed by the early 1940's thanks to its vast human, natural, and cultural resources. At the time, Russian territories spanned an impressive 21 million square kilometers and included over 2 billion acres of woodlands. The union of 16 Russian republics represented a huge working class of 173 nationalities, and the political force of the nation as a whole was undeniable.
