Description
General Nikolay Ivanov, Kiev War District Commander, is pictured here in full dress as one in a series of royal portraits in this section. Ivanov supported Tsar Nicholas II's military campaign for the White Army, and was killed in action during a Russian Civil War in 1919. Ivanov's strategies proved ineffective, and his hesitations in battle cost him command of the Russian army in 1915.
