Description
Maxim Gorky became a literary agent for Bolshevik power in Russia during its revolutionary period in the first half of the 20th century. He supplied financial and moral support for the Soviet cause in the beginning, but soon fell out of favor with Lenin and Stalin for criticizing their various social policies and limits on free press. Their is some speculation that Gorky's death, officially ruled a heart attack, was somehow generated by Red Army officials.
