Description
1905 was a bloody year in Russian history, as evidenced in this poster that shows a typical battle scene during the Russian Revolution. The struggle for independence did not end after the fighting had stopped, either. Bolsheviks would endure hunger, hardships, and persecution in order to gain their ultimate freedom in establishing a Soviet Union of independent republics under the Communist party platform. The ranks of imperial soldiers in the background of this scene would fall due to the strong resolve demonstrated by men and women like the one raising his fist in defiance here.
