Description
One of the more surprising messages from political posters of 1930's Russia involved cleanliness, a message intended to ensure homemakers kept their houses in order. This poster shows a woman cleaning windows indoors, perhaps in an effort to save electricity by making her interiors a little brighter during the day. In fact, the Russian text calls clean windows a "source of life and light."
