Description
This boy rings in a new chapter in Chinese history with the advent of the People's Reupblic in the late 1940's. The ineffective leadership of party Chairman Mao Zedong would do little to "build a new order" as this text indicates until millions of lives were lost through famine, war, and exploitation during the PRC's early days. In the wake of Chinese revolutions and a second World War, China would undergo a series of economic disasters before it found stablility under Communism in decades to come.
