Description
Ziggy Stardust was an alter-ego David Bowie used in creating a character for his epic album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spider From Mars. The fictional character represented Bowie's notion of the ideal rock star, one fueled by fan appreciation, drugs, and music. The wild performer could relate to these and other influences in creating a sound for the record that was quite unique. The photo here is of Lou Reed, another connection in the Ziggy theme, since Bowie produced Reed's album, Transformer, and was heavily influenced by his view of stardom at the time.
