Description
Chairman Mao Zedong (Tse-Tung) was a grand-scale political figure in the development of a socialist state in Communist China during the 20th Century. His leadership was sometimes questioned, but his influence as a politician and statesman earned him a place among Time magazine's most important people in a June 1999 issue. His legacy at home has been undermined, however, by a recent decision to write him out of scholarly history books due to the fundamental shift in Chinese political culture.
