Description
Bob Dobbs, the self-proclaimed "world's greatest salesman," created the Subgenius Foundation and the Church of the Subgenius in the 1950's. The organization has always been sort of an inside joke among members and fans, though Church officials insist there is a real purpose to the group. Nevertheless, the host of comic books, videos, and paraphenalia that have supported a cult following among college students and radical entertainers like the Devo and Frank Zappa perpetuate the icon of the famous J.R. Dobbs through each generation of fans.
