Cli-Che

Description

This play on words is a stencil art piece that reads like a billboard. Cli-Che is a not-so-subtle reference to the immortal revolutionary Che Guevara, who led rebel forces against established governments in Latin America and closer to home in his native Cuba. As a student of Marxism and sympathizer to Communist regimes, Guevara aimed to build a following among world leaders in other countries. His skills as a political activist did draw a favorable response from the likes of Fidel Castro and even Mao Zedong in Communist China, but the influential leader soon made powerful enemies that eventually led to his capture and death.
