Description
Bob Marley, the familiar Reggae musician and voice of the Rastafari nation, is depicted here in happier times, perhaps after enjoying one of his more enjoyable pasttimes, smoking marajuana. The influential artist did have relevant and sober political opinions, however, and his "power to the people" theme generated legions of followers in the 1970's. Like many other talented performers before him, Marley's star burned brightly for only a short time. The Jamaican native succumbed to malignant melanoma in 1981 at the young age of 36.
